Product: Food Grade Lift
Application: Moving & Dumping Ground Beef
Challenges Resolved:
This project involves a client at a meat packaging facility who is having some difficulty lifting large containers of ground beef into a machine that then packages the meat for retail sale. The employer recognized there was an injury risk in this task, but was unable to find a devise or machine that would resolve the challenge and eliminate the potential for shoulder or back injury.
The UL3 GoLift was a perfect place to start. It is self propelled and can lift up to 500 lbs. of payload. In this case the payload was less than 200 lbs. This was more weight than would be lifted by human workers but since the machine has much more capability the employer felt that be adding to the size of the load would increase productivity and the cost savings would help pay for the purchase.

This is a food handling operation and sanitation is imperative. Wash-down capability was a must. This meant reconfiguring nearly all of the materials normally used to make the GoLift. Stainless steel and aluminum had to be used where mild steel would normally be used. Motors, switches and actuators had to be enclosed or upgraded to wash down compliant.
