Trash Bag Lifting Device
Reduce Injuries from Lifting Trash Bags
Did you know that the vacuum created within a trash can from the sealed plastic liner can triple the perceived weight of the bag?
Here our all power battery operated Go Lift 7 is equipped with a jib and nylon sling to lift heavy plastic trash bags from outdoor trash cans. The use of the jib provides an additional 36″ of lifting height over the standard 64″. Trash handling involves many ergonomic risk factors that are eliminated with the use of our trash handling equipment.
A sealed plastic trash bag creates a vacuum within a trash can increasing the required force to remove the bag. We provide a (VBT) vacuum breaking tube to assist this worker. The VBT is a ¾” diameter tube with a flattened end that is inserted between the plastic bag and the inside of the receptacle. This allows air to flow into the receptacle while the bag is withdrawn. Without this tool the perceived load in the bag can be increased to well over 100 lbs and may tear and spill without it. After VBT is inserted the nylon sling is placed over the gathered top of the bag. The other looped end of the sling engages the jib. When in place the operators moves the lift lever on the GL7 and the bag is pulled from the container. It can then be transported directly to a dumpster where the nylon strap is removed. Some work environments prefer to place the trash bag onto a cart that can then be pulled by the GL7 to the next waste receptacle and onto the dumpster after collecting multiple bags.
This one tool can prevent shoulder, neck, arm and back injuries by removing the overhead lifting from this task.

We often need our clerical staff to take the trash out but its dirty work for someone dressed for office work and many of our female staff aren’t strong enough. What is the best option for us?
That depends on the type of trash container you need to empty and where the dumpster is located… the GL5 or GL7 equipped with a dumping device is most likely the best option. Please contact us directly to discuss further. Thanks for your interest in our trash handling equipment.
